START Bangkok is a creative education hub in Saladaeng offering UK-accredited art and design programmes for the next generation of Thai creatives. At its core is a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (UK Level 3 equivalent) — a one-year studio-based programme preparing students for admission to top art and design universities worldwide. Beyond the diploma, START offers one-to-one portfolio tutoring, short courses, and an annual Summer Explore Course for high schoolers testing design education for the first time.

The purpose-built START Lab studio hosts regular Creative Futures panels, student exhibitions, and industry collaborations.

Creative Portfolio Scholarships are awarded annually to exceptional students.

FAQ

Do you offer courses?

START offers creative education programmes that build the portfolio, skills, and confidence needed for art and design study worldwide including our Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, recognised by the University of Greater Manchester (UK) for progression, alongside short courses and personal tutoring.

Course offered:
Foundation Diploma in Art & Design
Pre-Foundation Intensive Course
Portfolio Tutoring & Mentorship
Short Courses & Workshops
Masterclasses & Creative Labs
Summer EXPLORE Course

Do I need a portfolio to apply?

Not at all. Many of our students begin with curiosity, not a portfolio. The Pre-Foundation Intensive and Short Courses are designed to help you build one from scratch with mentor guidance.

Is the Foundation Diploma recognised in the UK?

Yes. The programme is delivered by START at Woof Pack and is recognised by the University of Greater Manchester (UK) as equivalent to a UK Level 3 Foundation for progression to undergraduate study.

Students who successfully complete the diploma and meet the required academic and English language standards will receive a guaranteed conditional offer for Year 1 entry into selected Art & Creative Technologies degree programmes at the University of Greater Manchester

What language are courses taught in?

All programmes are conducted in English, with bilingual support available where needed. Our mentors are used to teaching international and Thai students together in an open, conversational environment.

Will you help me with university applications?

Absolutely. Every Foundation and Portfolio Tutoring student receives personal support with university selection, statements, interviews, and digital portfolio presentation. Many continue on to top UK and global art schools.

When should I apply?

Intakes open twice a year — January and August — but places are limited to keep classes small. Early registration ensures access to your preferred start date and mentor group.

Can I visit START before applying?

Yes — and we encourage it. You can book a free portfolio review or consultation to tour START Lab, meet tutors, and discuss which course suits your goals.
