I have a limited experience of Shibori. I have learnt it from YouTube videos & books for the past 8 months. As I was visiting Bangkok for a holiday, I researched about Shibori classes, especially Ori nui & katazome. I found Gigi Payne to be the most convenient. I am amazed with the depth of her knowledge & her teaching capabilities. I made the rice paste under her guidance, & she diligently taught me how to apply the paste. If you're interested in learning or improving your skills I highly recommend her.

I attended a batik workshop at Gigi's studio in Bangkok I enjoyed every moment An amazing and exciting experience I was impressed by the professionalism The generosity of the materials and the patient and clear guidance I'm sure I'll come back to her for a longer workshop in the future Highly recommended ♥️🏻

I attended 3 workshops with Gigi Katazome Sewing Sashiko All 3 were well taught. Gigi was able to adapt the workshops to my ability. I have left Gigi with a lovely cotton top which was made my measurements. I used Sashiko embroidery to decorate it. A wrap and square necktie using Katazome dye technique. The studio is lovely and bright and Gigi a lovely instructor. I left the sessions with lots of inspiration. I had a lovely time and was fully engaged with the activities. Thank you so much Gigi.

Gigi is one of life's lovely humans...for sure...a natural communicator whose gentle and thoughtful approach to teaching is a pleasure to be on the receiving end of. She is also happy to share her thoughts and extensive experiences of Thai culture and Buddhist practices, so I walked in hopeful that I could learn the basics of mandala art, and walked out inspired to join a forest temple retreat!
