Tucked into a small wooden house on Krung Thonburi Road, The Green Craft House is the craft café Khlong San creatives return to again and again — a quiet, cat-filled escape where you can paint glass bottles, sketch, string beads, or simply sink into a comic book between sips of coffee.
The creative activities here are drop-in and beginner-friendly. Pick up a set of art supplies from the counter — drawing materials, colouring sheets, glass bottles ready for painting, or beading kits — and settle in at your own pace. There are no classes or timetables, just open-ended making at whatever speed feels right.
When you need a break from creating, the shelves of comics and manga are free to browse, and a small board game collection and PS4 setup round out the options for a laid-back afternoon. The resident cats — a friendly colony of black cats — wander freely and are very much part of the atmosphere.
The café side is simple but decent: waffles, chicken pesto spaghetti, cakes, and a full drinks menu, with most items landing between 100 and 250 baht. The menu won’t distract you from the making — which is exactly the point.
Getting There
The Green Craft House is at 58 Krung Thonburi Road in Khlong San, a short walk from BTS Wongwian Yai (Exit 3, approximately 400 metres). There is no on-site parking; the nearest option is Sinsathorn Building.
I can't remember the last time I visited a place that really felt like a third space. I'm kind of surprised this place wasn't more popular. For any Brisbanites who might understand this niche reference, this place is like The Three Monkeys before West End for gentrified, except better: there's free art supplies, adorable cats, board games, and this place really encourages you just to chill and hangout. If I lived in BKK, I would legit be here all the time lol. The owner's brother had phenomenal English, their mother had great style, and I'm told the owner herself was on holiday at the time of our visit — but she has great taste in what makes a neighbour dig! 11/10, would recommend. P.S. This place was really affordable, me and my partner just ordered SO much lol
The atmosphere is amazing! I personally love anime, so finding this cafe felt like visiting a tiny Arimte house. If you like Ghibli films, this cafe is perfect for you! ❤️✨
The cats are so cute and chubby! The food is delicious. I really like that there are games to play and comic books to read. You can draw too. It could be another great place to relax and chill out in Bangkok.
📍ᴛʜᴇ ɢʀᴇᴇɴ ᴄʀᴀꜰᴛ ʜᴏᴜꜱᴇ - Walking from the BTS to The Green Craft House in the middle of Bangkok’s heat wave was, in hindsight, perhaps not my smartest decision But the moment I finally arrived, I was very glad I made the trip. But it was a fine walk since the place feels like a tiny creative escape from the city, with greenery, a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, and something interesting basically everywhere you look. And the “Craft” in the name is definitely well earned. The cafe is filled with little artworks, comics, books and handmade decorations, while art supplies are available for visitors who feel like drawing or painting themselves. There are also board games and a PS4, so it’s the kind of place where you could very easily lose an entire afternoon without realizing it. There are supposedly a few resident cats wandering around but I only found one who I couldn't touch hahaha. Someday I'll return with friends instead of alone.
