Baan Chao Phraya Art Gallery is a heritage gallery in Bangkok, set inside a restored royal residence on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, on Phra Athit Road in Phra Nakhon. The building carries a layered history — it served as a royal residence, a home for Italian architect Mario Tamagno (designer of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and Hua Lamphong Railway Station), a guesthouse for foreign dignitaries, and later the Provincial Police headquarters before falling into disuse.
PTT Group funded the full restoration and now operates the space as an art and learning venue. Exhibitions feature winning entries from the PTT Art Competition alongside rotating shows by established and emerging Thai artists.

The gallery also houses Café Amazon for Chance, a social enterprise café where hearing-impaired baristas work as part of an inclusive employment programme.

Accessible by Chao Phraya Express Boat to Tha Phra Arthit pier, and a short walk from Santi Chai Prakan Park and Phra Sumen Fort. Open Wednesday–Monday, 10:00–18:00 (closed Tuesdays and public holidays).

Always an interesting visit. Exhibitions rotate and entry is free. Super friendly staff and you can refresh afterward with a drink from the cafe outside. This week the exhibition was university art students on ground floor and their teachers upstairs. We even bought one of the works!

Excellent little art gallery by the Chao Praya River. Clean and cool and free to get in. Staff are friendly and there's plenty to look at. Some of the works are for sale and would make a wonderful souvenir. Recommended if you're staying nearby.

This was an amazing find! They host new artists and exhibitions the 15th of every month and their talent is amazing. If you enjoy art and are looking to catch emerging Thai artists this is definitely the gallery to explore. The work is by far outstanding and each exhibition is a feast for the eye truly speaking to the modern Thai Art style and voice. It's FREE by the way. 🎨
