KPN Music Academy is a music academy Bangkok students of all ages attend through more than 60 branches across Thailand. Founded in 1999 by Khunying (Lady) Phornthip Narongdej, the academy began as a single school focused on providing a stronger music curriculum for Thai children, and has since grown into Thailand’s largest music school network, operated alongside her son, Nop Narongdej.
The curriculum is structured across five life stages under the MUSIC framework: Making Musicians (pre-school age), Using the Brain (elementary age), Seeking Creativity (high school age), Igniting Talent (university age), and Creative Hobby (working adults). This staged approach is designed to develop musical skills alongside broader cognitive and creative development at each phase of life.
KPN Music Academy operates its own teacher quality system — the KPN Certification Institute (KCI) — which runs annual teacher examinations and certifies instructors with a KCI teacher card, guaranteeing teaching standards across all branches. The academy also collaborates with Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security on music therapy initiatives for children and people with disabilities at facilities across the country.
