Siam Art Supply is a professional art supplies shop in Bangkok, in 1998 by founder Chaiwat J. — a photo and printing expert who recognised that Thai artists had access only to student-grade paints and set out to change that. Located on the ground floor of The Old Siam Plaza in Bangkok’s historic Chinatown and Phahurat district, near Sam Yod MRT Exit 3, the shop is small but meticulously stocked with artist-grade materials and staffed by knowledgeable, English-speaking team members. The brand roster is exceptional: Old Holland Classic Oil Colours (Dutch, among the most pigment-rich oils in the world), Golden Artist Acrylic Colors (US), Michael Harding Handmade Artists’ Oil Colours (UK), Williamsburg Artist Oil Colors (US), and HOLBEIN Artists’ Oil and Watercolour (Japan). Brushes by Da Vinci (Germany) and Colorists, easels by MABEF (Italy), palettes by John Pike, and drawing pencils and charcoal by KOH-I-NOOR complete the range. Canvas (universal and oil-primed), papers, pastels, and gouache are also stocked. An authorised dealer for all carried brands, Siam Art Supply fills a gap few other stores in Bangkok address: access to world-class artist-grade materials at reasonable prices, from a team that genuinely understands them.

3 weeks agoI really liked this B2S, as they do indeed have professional art supplies. Good sortiment of well known quality brands. I deducted one point due to speed of service and lack of knowledge about some products (I asked for markers that do not cover outlines on paper but are transparent and after being told they don't have them I strolled a bit more and found some by myself). But all in all I love it here and will come back!

a month agoSmall little painting shop inside the mall. Quite hard to find, but it's located at number C1-17 (see photo) They have many kinds of brushes, both natural and synthetic. For watercolor and oil at least. They also have many watercolors but only one brand and only in tubes. Overall great quality but not crazy choice.
